about

Community members who subscribe to the solar project can enjoy lower energy costs over time. The subscribers will get a $0.02/kWh credit on their electricity bill for the solar electricity subscribed. This comes with no incremental costs, and can be cancelled at any time.

Community Solar projects bring communities the opportunity to use solar energy without a need to install solar panels. They generate clean energy, with a 1 Megawatt solar garden able to power approximately 131 homes per year.

Subscription priority will be given to First Nations and marginalized communities, then nearby residences and finally to the general public and businesses.

To express your interest in subscribing to a Community Solar project, please complete our Solar Electricity Subscription form below.

Any subscribers must be current customers of Nova Scotia Power Incorporated, in good standing with the utility, and who are not participating in any other solar programs (such as net metering).

Close to the Commercial Operation Date for a Community Solar project, eligible subscribers who completed the form will be contacted to enter a Subscription Agreement.
